Production Assistant Accountant
Reality television Production Company located in West L.A. looking for an accounting assistant to work with their production accounting team.
This position will assist the production accountants with their day to day operations. Duties will include filing, reconciling petty cash, payroll and entering purchase orders and invoices.
This is an entry-level position with an opportunity to learn and gain experience in production accounting. No prior accounting experience necessary.
Applicant should be detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

Accounts Payable Coordinator
Position Overview
The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for providing Accounting services in the area of Accounts Payable. This includes payments to vendors and re-issued unclaimed property checks to production employees, point of contact for all vendors and production employees via phone, mail and email, and maintenance of the Accounts Payable and Unclaimed property files. A high-level of knowledge in Accounts Payable and knowledge of unclaimed property is necessary in both the US and Canada.
Essential Functions
• Daily input of vendor invoices, check requests and unclaimed property requests
• Daily check runs
• Reports and reconciliation for unclaimed property
• Ability to process and maintain a high-volume of documents
• Maintain good lines of communication between vendors and internal customers
• Research and resolve vendor issues
• Review weekly and monthly Accounts Payable aging reports
• Monthly reconciliation of internal supply liability account
• Serve as backup to deduction & verification staff when needed
• Maintain Accounts Payable vendor storage files
• Misc projects as assigned by AP Manager
• High School graduate
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Accounts Payable
• Knowledge of standard Accounts Payable office procedures and policies
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with basic bookkeeping skills
• Typing and 10-key data entry proficiency required
• Excellent time management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and Outlook

Position Overview
The Garnishment Coordinator is responsible for processing wage garnishments. This includes payments to state and federal agencies for child/spousal support and other garnishment types, point of contact for said agencies via phone, mail and email, and maintenance of the garnishment database in the payroll system. A high-level of knowledge in garnishment laws and processes is necessary in both the US and Canada.
Essential Functions
• Daily input of garnishments according to wage assignment orders
• Mandatory response to wage assignment orders
• Print and remit weekly garnishment deductions to correct vendors
• Ability to process and maintain a high-volume of documents
• Maintain good lines of communication between employer and issuing agencies
• Research and resolve production employee issues
• Weekly review of garnishment aging report
• Scanning garnishment orders and records storage
• Maintain the garnishment’s policies and procedures manual
• Participate in special projects as assigned in support of process improvement and automation
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
• Minimum of 3 year experience in Accounting or related department
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Payroll Coordinator
Position Overview:
The Payroll Coordinator processes payroll for assigned shows and to be the point of contact for the client in aspects of payroll processing. The Payroll Coordinator is expected to proficiently demonstrate payroll processing ability in all US related payrolls, union and non-union. Extensive knowledge of all (Hollywood) I.A.T.S.E. locals, guilds and contracts, both TV and Theatrical, is necessary and must be demonstrated.
Essential Functions:
• Process in-coming payroll, which includes breaking of timecards in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Accountable and responsible for quality service in assisting and servicing clients in regards to payroll production, tax-related issues, answering pertinent questions, and problem-solving in compliance with company policy and procedure.
• Proficient knowledge and utilization of payroll database system. Should be familiar with applicable programs: invoice, batch, timecard editor; and reports: timecard verification, fringe, payroll history, cast list, gross wages.
• Maintaining accurate and acceptable files on each client/show, in accordance with company policy and procedure.
• Maintain the client relationship as it related to the weekly processing of the clients payroll. This includes responding to questions and resolving payroll issues.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as assigned.

• Creation of weekly Cost Reports for Producers and Department Heads
• Work closely with production executives and producers during the production budgeting phase, prior to green light
• Process and file purchase orders
• Coordinate and manage the use of established templates.
• Review cash flow schedules prior to studio approval.
• Work closely with Producers to ensure production legal requirements and commitments are being met.
• Closely monitor financial data and escalate areas of concern to supervisor to ensure swift financial decision-making.
