Post Production Accountant needed (L.A.)

Freelance Post Production Accountant position available. The network is seeking an experienced Production Accountant who assist with prep, post and wrap accounting. Location is Los Angeles.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist with the start-up of a project until lead production accountant is on • Process payroll for union and non-union • Create above-the-line payment schedules • Prepare cost reports during post production until final reports • Assist with budgeting by reviewing for accuracy • Process accounts payable and final payments for third party production companies • Reconcile Vista/PSL to corporate accounting system (SAP) by creating entries to record corporate chargebacks • Clean up Trial Balances in Vista/PSL by closing our petty cash and pcard accounts • Generate bank reconciliations • Manage accounting files • Assist with special projects and reports
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of union and talent agreements as well as union rule (DGA/IATSE/SAG/AFTRA/Teamsters/WGA)
• Exhibits a willingness to be adaptable as well as flexible and demonstrate a desire to operate in a dynamic demanding environment • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written • Sound judgment, business acumen, influencing skills and the experience, confidence and stature to effectively address issues • Effective at partnering with network, production company, staff and crew in order to obtain key information to manage the financial activities for the show • Conflict resolution skills and abilities are a must • Possess strong analytical skills necessary to identify issues and recommend solutions • Possess organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities • Working knowledge or advanced proficiency in Global Vista & PSL, Movie Magic Budgeting and Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Clerks needed for project (Atlanta Locals)

Looking for a couple of LOCAL accounting clerks for a project in Atlanta. Position will start sometime in August and most likely run through December. Looking for someone with some experience with extras payroll, maintaining files, PO/AMEX/PC tracking, and answering phones. TV Production Controller needed at NBC/Universal (Universal City)

Job Purpose
The Controller will be responsible for annual show costs and will oversee the TV Production financial and accounting processes for NBC Universal Broadcast Network, Basic Cable Network, 1st Run and Reality pilots, MOW’s, specials and series to ensure timely and accurate recording, reporting of actual and estimated show costs, correct payment of show vendors, staff, crew, and talent.

Essential Responsibilities
•Work with Legal and Business Affairs, Labor Relations, HR, Production Operations and Financial Departments to effectively manage the financial operations, including cash flow projections, Ultimates and cost reporting for assigned productions.
•Manage production accountants and assistants, Coordinate show budgeting process with accountants, and production accounting process from prep until turnover to production wrap accounting.
•Manage the set up of show accounting system using appropriate payroll software.
•Implement uniform reporting requirements, standard accounting procedures, oversee daily/weekly show cost reporting.
•Coordinate and implement tax, labor and sourcing policies and objectives.
•Manage production cash flow and support the weekly and quarterly corporate financial accounting and corporate cash management processes.
•Implement and ensure uniform budget policies.
•Key financial management liaison between production executives, show accountants, show producer/UPM, and corporate finance.
•Ensure that the NBCU financial controllership and production policies and procedures are uniformly implemented operationally and that payroll is in accordance with standards established by NBCU and is in compliance with collective bargaining agreement and state and local tax regulations.
•Oversee the budgeting of the projects for pilots and series.
•Management of direct and indirect staff.

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelors degree required. Prefer in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
•Prefer prior experience as a TV Production Controller.
•Entertainment Partners Vista Accounting, Movie Magic, and Entertainment Partners Budgeting Software experience required.
•Broad experience with various TV genres including Broadcast Network and Cable Network scripted 1 hr and 1/2 hour Drama, 1 hour Comedy.
•Experience with industry union and guild agreements required.
