Primary Position Duties:

Prominent television production company seeking a Production Accountant for all in-house productions. The position will report to the Controller, and will be responsible for managing all production payroll and cost reports, as well as various accounting duties within the department. The ideal candidate will have outstanding problem solving skills and enjoys working in a challenging, fast paced and high-growth environment.

• Work with line producers to process production payroll through Media Services and Cast & Crew.
• Cost tracking, coding, and processing invoices, payments and purchase orders • Review and reconcile all production related cost accounts • Provide timely support to employees to communicate best course of action for problems regarding travel, expense and company credit card questions/issues.

Sr Financial Analyst needed (Hollywood)

Overview and Responsibilities

Seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Production Finance Group. The Sr. Financial Analyst will assist the Production Finance Group with production cost planning and management,  corporate reporting, cash flow forecast, cash flow variance analysis, tax credit analysis, audit reviews, implementing and maintaining  processes and reporting and other duties as assigned.

  • Production cost planning and management from development to audit inclusive of analysis of estimated final costs and overages to corporate forecast, routing of overage forms for approval and reporting on spend for all projects under original and music programming and corporate set-up of the show • Cash Flow and Tax Incentive forecasting, variance analysis, year-end cash management • Support monthly and quarterly close, including journal entries, balance sheet and bank account reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation of SAP and production accounting system • Create reports for submission to Corporate Finance and Programming Finance •     Facilitate and manage pre-production finance and accounting inclusive of pre-funding, greenlight approval, internal project and production company set-up, budget review, production cash flow and payroll/accounting system set-up •Tax incentive analysis to determine the best location to capture the highest return of rebates and tax credits •  Identify cost/spend trends through historical data, budgets, cost reports •     Manage production bank account administration with Treasury •            Coordinate desk and field audits for production cost verification and operational audits; assist with union audits •      Report building for various ad-hoc analysis • Maintain administrative listings and reports for the group • Liaise with Production Management and Global Sourcing teams to identify cost efficiencies for production cycle • Actively engage with HR, Labor Relations, Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, Global Sourcing,  IT to ensure production finance policies and procedures are current and effectively implemented on our productions • Assist with research, develop and test new technologies that provide the next generation of production finance tools and determine how and when to best incorporate into the production accounting workflow • Special Projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business • Minimum 2-4 years related professional experience • Prior financial planning/accounting experience in the entertainment industry • Strong financial modeling and analytical abilities

Budget Accountant/Estimator needed (Hollywood)

Immediate Opportunity– Budget Accountant/Estimator (Hollywood, CA)

This position will report to head of Production Finance and will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of production budgets and templates for all television projects.

• Create, revise and update preliminary production budgets for all television projects series, movies, mini-series and variety programming • Create and maintain generic budget templates reflecting recent production activity in various cities both domestic and foreign • Identify recent production activity trends including staffing and industry practice • Analyze recent cost trends using historical production data • Stay informed of all union/guild contracts including rates, rules and regulations • Research and estimate available tax incentives where applicable • Engage with Production, Post Production, Labor Relations and Business Affairs regarding recent activity, practices and preferences applicable to generic budget templates • Estimate and confirm status with Labor Relations of union and guild agreements and how each applies to possible productions in each production location • Engage and confirm with payroll services (Entertainment Partners, US and Canada; Central Casting) industry practice on contested positions and agreement terms.• Develop and maintain template budgets, rate cards, fringe tables and other required budgeting tools • Create and revise charts and comparisons of current and past budgets and cost activities • Ad hoc reports and projects as required by VP, Production Finance

The Accounting Clerk will perform a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions to the Accounting Department.

Primary duties to include:
• Assist in month end reporting procedures including:
o Prepare bank reconciliations via Accounting Software (Great Plains)
o Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records
o Assist in the identification of month end accruals
o Prepare account reconciliations
o Compile data and prepare a variety of reports
o Filing, copying and distribution of reports
• Process Accounts Payable including:
o Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records, including Company Policies and Procedures
o Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
o Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
o Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks
o Distributes signed checks as required
o Answers all vendor inquiries
o Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files
o Assist with Year End 1099 Tax Reporting
• Assist with annual audit including:
o Pulling supporting documentation for auditor selections
