Associate Director, Tax Planning at 20th Century Fox Film (Los Angeles)

FOX is hiring an Experienced Professional to enhance our Film and Television Production Incentives team. We seek a motivated, conscientious and contribution-oriented professional, who exhibits strong written and oral communication skills, a high aptitude for critical thinking and analysis, and excellent tax and legal research skills. You will be a part of a dynamic and creative team working directly with our production business units in the research, planning, administration and recoupment aspects of the incentive process. This role offers room for professional growth and development, both within the tax department and FOX.
The Production Incentives team is a tax-based, internal service provider to FOX’s film and television production units. Our primary objective is to maximize and monetize all domestic and international production incentives. Additionally, we provide tax guidance and compliance support for productions with income taxes, payroll taxes, and indirect taxes matters. In this exciting and unique group, you have an opportunity to truly understand the film and television production business, while continuing to develop as a tax professional.
Research and develop a deep understanding of all domestic and international production incentives;
Provide tax research, administration, compliance support and advice to all business units serving the film and television production business;
Work closely with the corporate tax compliance and provision teams to ensure incentive compliance and maximize internal utilization;
Coordinate with production accountants, estimators, finance and legal teams on all tax and incentive matters facing our productions;
Liaise with international consultants and service providers on complex tax structuring and planning opportunities;
Participate in internal incentive planning and production team meetings;
Attend conferences, trade shows, and other relevant industry events, when applicable;
Work closely with the MPAA and other major studios on enhancing incentive programs and monitoring legislative changes;
Become a trusted advisor to the television and film production teams; and
Cultivate a team environment, build and maintain internal and external relationships, and support a high performing work environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
CPA or JD/LLM, a plus
5+ years of tax experience at a professional services firm or comparable production/post production experience with estimating film incentives in worldwide jurisdictions.
Big 4, public accounting or law firm experience preferred
Studio, entertainment industry, or other film and television production experience a plus.
Ability to work effectively on individual projects and as part of a team;
Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Visio
