Busy stop-motion and 2D animation studio in Burbank, CA, seeking Junior Production Accountant to join a small but strong team.
• Prepare and review production cost reports and report consolidated findings to production and finance executives on a weekly basis escalating areas of concern.
• Support line producers and production accountants setting up cost report templates for new projects.
• Assist in obtaining all production accounting studio deliverables at delivery completion.
• Manage, monitor and review all costs hitting projects including labor, accounts payable, p-card purchases and petty cash.
• Prepare journal entries related to production allocations.
• Ensure purchases are properly controlled and authorized and that invoices are recorded and paid.
• For actor payments, collaborate with the payroll company to address any issues throughout the payroll cycle, review and approve final reports from the external payroll company.
• A solid understanding of payroll process and labor law.

Studio Staff Accountant needed at Major Network TV Studio (Burbank)

Looking for Studio Staff Accountant for a long term position in-house at major network television studio in Burbank CA. Position will prep series/pilots, manage day to day operations for 3-4 shows while in production, and wrap series/pilots. Various duties will include misc AP, Payroll, Cost Reporting, Bank and Cost Report reconciliation. Scripted television experience is a MUST. Tax credit paperwork, PSL3 and Global Vista experience is a HUGE plus.
Please be a strong 1st accountant, ideally with union payroll experience. Willing to consider a very strong 2nd accountant. This position is not right for a new or intermediate level 2nd accountant or clerk. 5 years experience with at least one pilot season minimum.

Entertainment production company, Critical Content, is seeking a Assistant Production Accountant with unscripted production experience.
Position: Assistant Production Accountant
Department: Production Accounting
Reports To: Lead Production Accountant
Position Summary: The primary function of an Assistant Production Accountant is to support the Lead Production Accountant by processing weekly payroll and accounts payables and receivables in a timely manner and to ensure accuracy and correct documentation of all records are maintained.
Essential Job Functions:
• Process POs and Invoices including data entry; verify vendor information and secure proper approvals.
• Process Petty Cash reports in a timely manner including adherence to established petty cash guidelines, proper coding, and appropriate backup and obtaining authorization.
• Process weekly payroll including:
o Review SPW and union guidelines, if needed
o Process weekly time cards and submit for approval
o Liaise with payroll processing company
o Review payroll edits for accuracy and correct if needed
o Verify and prepare paychecks for distribution
o Post med files and reformat if needed
o Get final payroll invoice approved for payment
• Process P-card or credit card invoices including:
o Format invoice in Excel including correctly coding all expenses
o Verify and ensure that all backup is correct
o Resolve errors and obtain missing backup
• Prepare bank deposits with correct documentation and reconciliations.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with Microsoft Office, MediaWin/Web, Intacct and Movie Magic Budgeting, Showbiz.
• Handles confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion and good judgment.
• Ability to multitask.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated; team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior production experience strongly recommended.
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree with 4-5 years of experience.
